San Diego, CA (October 02, 2025) – A motorcyclist was killed early this morning in a solo-vehicle crash on southbound I-805 near El Cajon, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash occurred around 12:05 a.m. when a blue Hyundai Santa Fe collided with debris in the roadway, leading to the motorcycle rider being thrown and sustaining fatal injuries. Emergency responders confirmed the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
Traffic on southbound I-805 was temporarily reduced to the #1 lane while crews cleared debris and investigated the collision. CHP reported that it is unclear whether the vehicle struck the debris or lost control prior to the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
