San Jose, CA (September 21, 2025) – A major injury multi-vehicle collision occurred early this morning on southbound US-101 at Bernal Road, involving a Toyota Camry and at least one SUV, authorities confirmed. The crash was reported shortly after 1:47 a.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the Toyota Camry rolled approximately 50 feet down an embankment, while the SUV came to rest in the middle lanes. Another vehicle was reported in a ditch on the right-hand side of the roadway.
Emergency responders from the Santa Clara County Fire Department and local towing services, including Great America Tow, Silva Bro Tow, and Community Tow, were dispatched to the scene. At least one person sustained injuries and received medical attention at the scene.
Traffic on the southbound US-101 was disrupted for several hours while crews cleared the vehicles and ensured safety.
The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the collision.
