Nevada City, CA - Two-Vehicle Crash on I-80 Involving Animal Collision and Embankment Impact

Nevada City, CA (April 30, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 West near Nevada City early Wednesday morning left one vehicle in an embankment and another damaged after striking an animal.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision resulted in visible damage to a concrete wall and paddle marker along the highway. Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene to assist those involved and begin cleanup efforts.

At least one of the vehicles was towed due to sustained damage. Authorities have not yet disclosed if anyone was injured, though medical personnel were present to evaluate the occupants.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
