Oakland, CA (April 10, 2025) โ The California Highway Patrol has launched an investigation after a person was found injured early Thursday morning near the intersection of 6th St and Castro St in Oakland, close to the I-880 and I-980 corridor. The incident was reported around 5:21 a.m.
The injured individual claimed they were struck by a vehicle on the freeway. Emergency crews responded quickly and transported the person to a local hospital under code 1141, indicating injuries requiring ambulance care. The extent of their injuries has not yet been released.
CHP officers are actively reviewing nearby traffic camera footage to determine whether the individual may have jumped or fallen from an overpass. At this time, no confirmation has been made on whether a vehicle was actually involved in the collision.
