Oakland, CA (May 4, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash occurred Sunday morning at the eastbound Interstate 80 and I-580 East Connector in Oakland, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident happened around 11:39 a.m. and involved a red sedan and a silver sedan. CHP officials reported that one of the vehicles sustained a front axle failure, temporarily blocking all lanes at the interchange.
Emergency crews responded swiftly to manage the scene and assist the involved drivers. Tow trucks were called to remove the damaged vehicles. The roadway was cleared by 12:08 p.m., and traffic flow was restored shortly after.
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash. No injuries have been reported at this time.
