Oakland, CA – Woman Killed, Man Injured in DUI Crash

Oakland, CA (June 8, 2025) – A suspected DUI crash on San Leandro Street killed a 28-year-old woman and injured a 66-year-old man, the Oakland Police Department reports.

The collision occurred around 2:40 a.m. Sunday in the 6300 block, when the woman’s Honda Civic crossed into westbound lanes and struck a Ford cargo van head-on. A fleeing Infiniti SUV later sideswiped the Civic before officers secured the scene.

Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead at the site and transported the van driver to a local hospital with minor injuries. Police found an open container in the Civic and believe alcohol was a factor. Authorities continue searching for the Infiniti driver.

We extend our deepest condolences to the victim’s family and hope for the full recovery of those injured.
