Orange County, CA - One Killed in Early Morning Fatal Collision on Westbound SR-91

Orange County, CA (September 06, 2025) – A fatal crash happened early Saturday morning on westbound State Route 91 near Knott Avenue, leaving one person dead.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed the incident as a fatality. Around 12:55 a.m., officers reported finding a person lying in the middle lanes of the highway, and several vehicles may have passed over the individual.

Emergency crews arrived quickly and confirmed the person had died. The Orange County Coroner’s Office was notified, and the affected lanes were closed for investigation and scene processing.

Traffic was diverted as authorities worked to clear the area. CHP is investigating what led to the crash, including whether other vehicles were involved.
