Escondido, CA (October 12, 2025) – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on northbound State Route 14 near Escondido Canyon Road on Friday night, according to the California Highway Patrol. The accident, reported around 9:27 p.m., involved a blue Lexus SUV, a green Toyota Tacoma, and at least one additional vehicle. One of the vehicles ended up overturned, while another came to rest on top of it.
Emergency responders, including fire personnel, towing services, and CHP officers, arrived at the scene and confirmed that one individual had died.
The coroner was notified, and investigators are actively examining the cause of the collision.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased or additional details about the circumstances leading to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
