San Diego, CA (October 28, 2025) – One person was killed early Tuesday morning in a fiery car crash on State Route 163 in Mission Valley, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The collision occurred around 2:00 a.m. on the southbound lanes of SR-163 near Friars Road. CHP officials reported that a single vehicle was involved in the crash, which burst into flames after impact. Tragically, the driver of the vehicle did not survive the crash.
The CHP has not yet released the identity of the victim. Emergency crews responded quickly to extinguish the fire, and several southbound lanes were closed for about an hour while authorities investigated the scene.
