Jurupa Valley, CA (August 30, 2025) – A six-vehicle collision on northbound Interstate 15 just north of Limonite Avenue left one person dead and others injured early Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash occurred at approximately 3:40 a.m. on August 30, 2025, when a Chevrolet Cruze rear-ended a Mercedes SUV, forcing the SUV into the center concrete median. Moments later, a northbound Jeep Wrangler struck the driver’s side of the Mercedes, fatally injuring the SUV’s driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Chevrolet Cruze then veered across lanes and onto the right shoulder. A Chevrolet Silverado behind the Cruze braked heavily to avoid a collision, but a following Nissan Altima was unable to stop in time and struck the rear of the pickup.
The driver of the Chevrolet Cruze fled the scene but was later located and arrested at 8:45 a.m. on charges including Felony DUI, Felony Hit and Run, and Murder. The Jeep Wrangler driver was also arrested for Felony DUI.
One person sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a hospital, while four others were evaluated at the scene and released with no injuries. A sixth vehicle, which belonged to a bystander, was not directly involved in the crash.
Northbound I-15 was fully closed for an extended period as CHP investigators and tow trucks cleared the scene. The investigation remains active.
