[03-31-2025] – Pedestrian Dies in Collision with Two Vehicles on I-5 Freeway

Anaheim, CA – A pedestrian was sadly killed early Monday morning after being hit by two different vehicles on the southbound side of the Interstate 5 (Santa Ana Freeway) in Anaheim. The tragic incident took place just north of Lincoln Avenue at around 2:03 a.m., as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

According to CHP reports, the first vehicle to strike the pedestrian was a white truck traveling in the middle lanes of the freeway. Moments later, a black Honda Civic also collided with the individual. The order of events and the specific reasons why the pedestrian was on the freeway are still under investigation.

Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene and confirmed the unfortunate fatality. As of now, the identity of the victim has not been disclosed, as authorities are waiting to inform next of kin.

Following the crash, a SigAlert was issued at 2:18 a.m., leading to the closure of all southbound lanes and the Euclid Street on-ramp. CHP and emergency crews worked diligently to investigate the accident and clear the area. The far-right lane reopened just after 3:11 a.m., while remaining traffic was rerouted off the freeway at Euclid Street.
