Mecca, CA (October 10, 2025) – A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run accident Friday evening on Grapefruit Boulevard near the 66th Avenue Bypass, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. Police officers and paramedics responded after receiving reports of a hit-and-run. They found a male pedestrian lying on the right shoulder with serious injuries.
The victim later died from the wounds. It is unclear if death occurred at the scene or at a hospital. The driver involved fled and has not been identified. No description of the vehicle or driver was provided.
