Modesto, CAย โ A pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run collision Thursday morning at the intersection of River Road and Bystrum Road, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Officers from CHP Modesto responded to the incident around 10:55 AM, after receiving reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. Emergency medical services arrived promptly and provided immediate care to the injured person. The victim was stabilized at the scene and later transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The extent of the injuries has not yet been disclosed by authorities.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene before officers arrived. As of now, the suspect vehicle remains unidentified, and law enforcement is urging anyone with information or surveillance footage from the area to contact local authorities. The intersection was temporarily closed during the investigation, causing brief traffic delays in the surrounding area while evidence was collected.
