Modesto, CA — A pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run collision Thursday morning at the intersection of River Road and Bystrum Road, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Officers from CHP Modesto responded to the incident around 10:55 AM, after receiving reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. Emergency medical services arrived promptly and provided immediate care to the injured person. The victim was stabilized at the scene and later transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene before officers arrived.
