Sacramento, CA – A pedestrian was injured on Friday evening after being hit by a vehicle on northbound State Route 51, close to El Camino Avenue, in the North Sacramento area. The incident transpired around 7:55 p.m., prompting an immediate response from emergency personnel and the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
According to reports from CHP, the collision involved a van that was either white, gold, or beige—possibly identified as a dark gray GMC. The pedestrian was found lying in the crosswalk following the crash. Witnesses described the vehicle as having struck the person within or near the designated crossing area.
Emergency responders from the Sacramento Fire Department arrived quickly at the scene to assist. The injured pedestrian was transported to UC Davis Medical Center for treatment. Although the incident was documented as a traffic collision with minor injuries (code 1181), the current condition of the pedestrian has not been disclosed.
Initially, there was some confusion regarding the specifics of the vehicle and the hospital destination for the injured individual, as early reports inaccurately stated that Kaiser North would be the receiving facility. However, authorities later confirmed that the pedestrian was indeed taken to UC Davis.
The CHP continues to investigate the details of the crash, and it is currently unclear whether the driver remained at the scene or if any citations have been issued. Our thoughts are with the injured pedestrian, and we hope for a swift and complete recovery.
