West Los Angeles, CA (August 31, 2025) – A fatal pedestrian collision occurred earlier today on I-405 South in West Los Angeles, involving a black SUV and a dark-colored sedan. The pedestrian was struck in the southbound lanes near W Pico Blvd, resulting in a tragic death at the scene. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
The incident, which was reported at approximately 3:07 AM, caused significant traffic disruption, with a SigAlert issued for a closure of all lanes. Emergency services, including the LAPD and LAFD, responded to the scene. The driver of the SUV was confirmed to have died at the scene. The sedan’s driver reportedly left the area.
A tow service, Quicksilver Tow, was called to the site, and traffic was rerouted via Santa Monica on-ramp. The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
