Georgetown, CA (August 19, 2025) – A single-vehicle rollover crash occurred today on Highway 193 in El Dorado County, resulting in the death of the driver, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Officers responded to the crash just before 10:30 a.m. near Cedar Drive. CHP officials reported that a Ford F-350 was traveling north on Highway 193 at a high rate of speed when it struck an embankment and overturned. The truck then landed on its roof, sliding across the roadway and hitting another embankment on the opposite side.
The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the crash, and the driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time. The driver’s identity has not yet been released.
CHP is investigating the cause of the rollover, and more details will be released as they become available.
