Petaluma, CA - Two Pedestrians Injured in Crash on Petaluma Blvd North

Petaluma, CA (July 01, 2025) – Two pedestrians were injured in a crash Tuesday afternoon when they were struck by a white Cadillac Escalade in the crosswalk at Petaluma Boulevard North, according to the Petaluma Police Department.

The crash occurred just before 1:30 p.m. when a white Cadillac Escalade hit the pedestrians in the crosswalk. One man was taken to a trauma center in critical condition, while the other was transported to a nearby hospital.

The driver of the Cadillac remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The driver was traveling at 20 to 25 mph and did not see the pedestrians. Speed, alcohol, and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.

The intersection was closed temporarily for investigation and reopened by 3:15 p.m.

We wish the injured pedestrians a full and swift recovery.

Pedestrian Accidents in California

Pedestrian accidents in California often occur along busy roads like Figueroa Street, El Camino Real, and Broadway, where foot traffic crosses paths with speeding or distracted drivers. Intersections without signals, poorly marked crosswalks, and congested urban streets increase the risk of impact. These collisions frequently lead to severe injuries, including leg fractures, head trauma, and internal damage. Pedestrians struck by vehicles rarely have time to react or avoid the collision, and recovery often involves hospitalization, rehabilitation, and long-term care. Crashes near schools, shopping centers, and public transit stops disproportionately affect some of the most vulnerable road users. Seeking help from experienced California personal injury lawyers is crucial after a serious incident.
