Placer County, CA - 11-Year-Old Girl Killed in Off-Road Vehicle Crash on Red Feather Circle

Placer County, CA (April 20, 2025) – An 11-year-old girl tragically lost her life Sunday evening in an off-road vehicle crash in unincorporated Placer County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. on private property along Red Feather Circle in Applegate. Authorities said the girl was operating a side-by-side off-road vehicle with an adult male passenger when the vehicle, for unknown reasons, rolled onto its driver’s side. The girl was partially ejected during the crash.

Despite life-saving efforts at the scene, she succumbed to her injuries. The adult passenger suffered minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.

The CHP is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
