Placer County, CA (May 29, 2025) – Two individuals were injured in a vehicle fire on eastbound Interstate 80 in Placer County on Thursday afternoon, temporarily shutting down lanes. The incident occurred when a passenger vehicle caught fire off the roadway.
California Fire reported that emergency crews responded swiftly, arriving at the scene where the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters worked quickly to extricate the two occupants, who were trapped inside, and extinguished the fire.
Both individuals were airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, although their condition remains unknown at this time. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
