Redding, CA (May 6, 2025) – Two individuals were hospitalized with moderate to severe injuries following a three-vehicle crash Tuesday evening on Interstate 5 near the Hilltop Drive overcrossing, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision began when the driver of a Cadillac SUV lost control and rolled down an embankment, crashing onto I-5. The SUV struck a semi-truck towing a tanker trailer, causing the truck to overturn. A third vehicle then sideswiped the overturned semi during the incident.
Emergency crews responded quickly and transported two injured individuals to the hospital for treatment. The driver of the Cadillac is currently under investigation for possible DUI.
CHP and the Redding Police Department continue to investigate the crash. Further details will be released as the investigation develops.
