Richmond, CA (July 04, 2025) – A multiple-vehicle crash on westbound I-580 near the bridge just west of the Toll Plaza left multiple lanes blocked on the morning of July 4, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
At around 10:30 a.m., six vehicles were involved in the collision, including a blue Tesla, a silver Subaru Outback, a red Nissan Versa, a gray Toyota Camry, a black pickup truck, and a Lexus SUV. The Lexus was rendered undrivable in the incident. Emergency responders, including units from the Richmond Fire Department and the Marin County Fire Department, quickly arrived at the scene to assess and treat the injured parties.
One female driver, who reported neck pain, was treated at the scene and transported for further care. The CHP initiated an investigation into the crash, which caused significant traffic disruptions as crews worked to clear the wreckage and reopen the affected lanes.
