Sacramento, CA – One Killed in Seven-Vehicle Crash During Police Pursuit

Sacramento, CA (June 7, 2025) – One innocent bystander was killed when seven vehicles collided during a high-speed police pursuit, the Sacramento Police Department reports.

The chase began shortly after 10:15 a.m. Saturday, near the 7300 block of Farmdale Way, during a civil standby for a domestic violence call. Officers pursued the suspect through multiple intersections before the suspect’s vehicle triggered a chain-reaction collision involving six additional vehicles.

Emergency crews pronounced the bystander dead at the scene; several other motorists and the suspect were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and taken to local hospitals.

SPD’s Major Collision Investigation Unit is examining whether pursuit tactics or road conditions contributed to the crash.

We extend our deepest condolences to the victim’s family and hope for the full recovery of those injured.
