Sacramento, CA - Pedestrian Critically Injured in Crash on Norwood Ave

Sacramento, CA (May 16, 2025) – A 50-year-old man was struck by a vehicle and critically injured Friday morning near the intersection of Norwood and Eleanor Avenues, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

The incident occurred just before 8:30 a.m. Responding officers and paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital. Officials say he is not expected to survive his injuries.

The driver involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Authorities have ruled out drugs and alcohol but are examining whether distracted driving played a role.

Norwood Avenue was closed between Eleanor and Las Palmas Avenues as detectives conducted a detailed reconstruction of the scene.
