Sacramento, CA - Senator Sabrina Injured in T-Bone DUI Crash

Sacramento, CA (May 19, 2025) – State Senator Sabrina Cervantes sustained minor injuries when her sedan was T-boned at 14th and S streets. She was also cited for suspected DUI, according to Sacramento Police.

The crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. Monday near the state Capitol. The 37-year-old Riverside representative was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries just before the afternoon Senate session. Officers allege signs of drug impairment; Cervantes insists hospital tests showed no alcohol or drugs in her system.

Toxicology results are still pending, and the Sacramento County District Attorney will review them before deciding on any charges. The Sacramento Police Department continues its investigation.

We wish Senator Cervantes a quick and full recovery.
