Wrongful Death Claims in Sacramento
Losing a loved one due to someone else’s negligence, whether in a car crash, a workplace accident, or due to a dangerous product, is devastating. Beyond grief, families often face sudden financial strain, funeral costs, and the loss of emotional support and income.
Under California’s wrongful death law, certain relatives, such as spouses, children, or financial dependents, can pursue a civil claim for compensation. These cases are separate from any criminal charges and focus solely on helping families recover for funeral expenses, lost future income, and loss of companionship.
But wrongful death claims are complex. Proving liability, calculating long-term losses, and protecting your rights against insurers or corporate defendants requires early legal action. An experienced wrongful death lawyer in Sacramento can push back, preserve key evidence, and calculate the full value of your case. You only have two years from the date of death to file a claim in most cases.
