San Bernardino County, CA - One Killed in Motorcycle and School Bus Collision on I-10 in Bloomington

San Bernardino County, CA (Nov 3, 2025) – One person was killed early Monday morning after a motorcycle collided with a school bus on Interstate 10 in Bloomington, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The crash occurred around 5:57 a.m. on the westbound I-10, east of Cedar Avenue. Investigators say the motorcycle collided with a yellow school bus, causing the motorcyclist to be thrown into the middle lanes of traffic. A passing driver in a dark gray Toyota Tacoma stopped to shield the motorcyclist from oncoming vehicles until emergency responders arrived.

Despite the passing driver’s efforts to provide aid, the motorcyclist was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with major injuries and no pulse at the time of transport. Tragically, the motorcyclist was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The school bus, which had no students or passengers onboard, pulled over to the right shoulder after the collision. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported from the bus.

CHP officials closed lanes for several hours while they investigated the crash and cleared the wreckage. According to the CHP, one witness captured video footage of the collision, which is being reviewed as part of the investigation.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones of the motorcyclist who tragically lost their life.

Fatal Motorcycle Accidents in California: Know Your Legal Rights

Motorcycle accidents can be devastating, often leading to severe injuries or fatalities, particularly in collisions involving larger vehicles like school buses. When a motorcyclist dies in such an accident, surviving family members may be entitled to file a wrongful death claim under California law.

A wrongful death claim allows family members to recover compensation for:

  • Funeral expenses
  • Medical costs incurred before death
  • Lost income and financial support
  • Emotional distress

Even if the driver at fault is not immediately found, families can still seek compensation through uninsured motorist coverage or by filing a claim against the responsible party once identified.

In California, families typically have two years from the date of death to file a wrongful death lawsuit. Early action is important to preserve evidence and ensure the best possible outcome for the case.
