San Jose, CA – Major Injuries Reported in Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving Teslas and Mazda on SR-237 near Lawrence Expy

San Jose, CA (July 14, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash on State Route 237 in San Jose sent at least one person to the hospital with major injuries Monday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The collision occurred around 5:54 p.m. on the westbound lanes of SR-237, just east of the Lawrence Expressway off-ramp. Four vehicles were involved in the crash: a black Tesla sedan, a blue Tesla, a white Tesla sedan, and a Mazda SUV.

Emergency responders from the San Jose Fire Department arrived at the scene and treated those involved. At least one individual sustained severe injuries, including a serious head injury, and was transported to a local hospital. Their current condition remains unknown.

All four vehicles sustained significant damage. The black Tesla sedan had heavy rear-end damage, the blue Tesla was damaged at both ends, the white Tesla had major front-end damage, and the Mazda SUV was severely damaged in both the front and rear.

Traffic on SR-237 was temporarily impacted as crews worked to clear the wreckage and conduct their investigation. Authorities have not yet disclosed the exact cause of the crash, and the incident remains under investigation.
