San Jose, CA (May 15, 2025) – At least one person was hospitalized Friday evening following a two-vehicle collision on southbound Highway 17 near Summit Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:31 p.m., causing delays in the mountainous section of the highway connecting San Jose to the Santa Cruz area. First responders, including paramedics, treated those injured at the scene, and at least one person was transported to the hospital. The extent of the injuries has not been disclosed, and the identities of those involved have not yet been released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities are looking into potential contributing factors such as road conditions, driver behavior, and weather, particularly given the challenging terrain of Highway 17.
