San Jose, CA – Woman Killed by Own Kia Sedona After Parking on Incline on Lyric Ln

San Jose, CA (April 11, 2025) – A woman died Friday morning after being run over by her own vehicle on Lyric Lane, according to the San Jose Police Department.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 10:50 a.m. to the area of Lyric Lane and Otono Court, where they found a woman gravely injured. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators determined that the victim had parked her red 2006 Kia Sedona on an incline on the northbound side of Lyric Lane. As she exited the vehicle, it began rolling backward, knocked her down, and ran over her.

The victim has been identified by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office as Bella Vierra, 78, of San Jose.

The incident remains under investigation. No additional details have been released.
