Santa Clara, CA (November 2, 2025) – Two individuals tragically lost their lives in a multi-vehicle crash early Sunday morning, November 2, 2025, on Highway 101 in Santa Clara. The collision, which involved three vehicles, occurred around 1:11 a.m. near Great American Parkway on the northbound side of Highway 101.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a 2023 Hyundai Elantra was traveling in the second lane when it was struck by an unknown vehicle, which caused the Elantra to lose control, hit the median, and overturn.
The driver of the unknown vehicle fled the scene, leaving the Hyundai Elantra overturned. Both occupants of the Elantra, a 44-year-old man from Menlo Park and a 27-year-old woman from San Jose, managed to exit the vehicle but were then struck by a 2016 Hyundai Accent traveling in the same direction. Tragically, both individuals were fatally injured in the second collision.
The driver of the Hyundai Accent remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Authorities are currently investigating the crash and the actions of the unknown vehicle. The driver who fled the scene is still being sought. CHP has urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
