Santa Cruz, CA (April 5, 2025) – A deadly motorcycle crash occurred Saturday afternoon on Highway 1 near Laguna Road, resulting in at least one fatality, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The collision involved a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle on the northbound side of Highway 1. Emergency medical teams and fire crews responded quickly to the scene. Tragically, one individual was pronounced dead on-site. The identity of the victim has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The accident caused lane closures as authorities investigated the scene. The cause of the collision remains under review, with speed or distraction among the potential contributing factors being examined.
