Scotts Valley, CA – Three Injured in Mini Cooper-School Bus Crash on H-17

Scotts Valley, CA (May 18, 2025) – A Mini Cooper struck a southbound school bus on Highway 17 Sunday morning, injuring three, the California Highway Patrol reports.

The crash occurred at approximately 9:50 a.m. near Vine Hill Road, where the 67-year-old San Jose woman driving the Mini lost control after rear-ending the bus, veered off the roadway, and collided with a tree. She was taken to Valley Medical Center with major injuries.

Twenty-four children and two adults were aboard the bus; two students suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. The CHP continues to investigate.
