Shasta County, CA (May 31, 2025) – A 34-year-old Cottonwood man was killed when his electric scooter was struck by a Ford pickup truck at the intersection of Gas Point Road and Park Drive, California Highway Patrol reports.
CHP reports the westbound pickup entered the intersection just as the scooter, traveling south on Park Drive, also entered. The Ford struck the rider, who was found pinned beneath the truck. The driver stopped on the north shoulder of Gas Point Road and called for help.
Paramedics arrived and attempted life-saving measures, but the rider was pronounced dead at the scene. CHP’s Shasta Division continues to investigate the collision.
