Shasta County, CA (May 19, 2025) – Two drivers suffered major injuries in a head-on collision on State Route 44, the California Highway Patrol reports.
The crash occurred around 3:20 p.m. Monday when a westbound vehicle attempted to pass a truck by entering the eastbound lane and struck an oncoming car. Emergency crews transported one driver by ambulance to Banner before transfer to Renown Medical Center; the other was airlifted to Shasta Regional Medical Center.
The CHP continues to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
