Imperial Beach, CA – South Bay Couple Killed in Rear-End Collision near SoFi Stadium in Inglewood

Imperial Beach, CA (August 09, 2025) – A South Bay couple, Alexandra Ruiz, 20, and Dante De Anda, 25, died in a two-car collision near SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on Sunday, August 09, 2025. The couple was on their way to the music festival at SoFi Stadium. Their Volkswagen Jetta collided with a Tesla SUV just five to six blocks from the stadium.

According to the Inglewood Police, the accident occurred as the Jetta attempted a left turn and was struck by the Tesla. All four occupants in the Tesla sustained minor injuries, while Ruiz and De Anda were taken to the hospital and later died from their injuries.

Family members described Ruiz as a bright and joyful pre-school teacher who loved to laugh and dance, and De Anda as a happy and kind soul who was excited to start a new contracting job. The couple had been together for about a year.

The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
