Stockton, CA - Bicyclist Injured in Collision Near S Manthey Rd & W Bowman Rd

Stockton, CA (May 8, 2025) – A male bicyclist sustained injuries Thursday afternoon following a collision near the intersection of South Manthey Road and West Bowman Road in Stockton, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident was reported at approximately 4:34 p.m. and classified as a traffic collision with injuries (CHP Code 1179), prompting an emergency medical response. The cyclist was found down near the roadway upon responders’ arrival and received on-site treatment before being transported for further medical care. The extent of the injuries has not yet been disclosed.

A white van, reportedly driven by a man wearing a turban, was seen nearby, though it remains unclear whether the van was involved in the collision or had stopped to assist. CHP investigators are working to determine the role of the vehicle and its driver in the incident.

This crash highlights ongoing safety concerns for cyclists at rural and semi-rural intersections where infrastructure may be lacking.

We extend our best wishes for a full and swift recovery to the injured cyclist and encourage anyone with information to assist investigators.
