Stockton, CA - Semi-Truck Overturns on Fremont Street On-Ramp to Highway 99

Stockton, CA (June 26, 2025) – A semi-truck overturned early Thursday morning on the Fremont Street/State Route 26 on-ramp to southbound Highway 99, causing a significant traffic hazard and delays.

The incident occurred just before 6:20 a.m., spilling recyclable metal and hydronic fluid onto the roadway. Caltrans responded quickly to clean up the spill, using sand-type absorbent materials to contain the leak.

The driver was uninjured, and authorities confirmed that speed and DUI were not contributing factors to the crash. The ramp was closed for several hours while crews worked to clear the debris and make the area safe for drivers.

The ramp has since reopened, and traffic is slowly returning to normal.

We hope for the full recovery of the affected area and extend our thanks to the emergency and cleanup crews for their quick response.

Commercial Truck Collisions in California

Collisions involving 18-wheelers and freight trucks on highways like I-5, I-80, and the San Joaquin Valley routes often leave victims with life-altering injuries. The size and weight of commercial vehicles mean that even a single crash can result in spinal damage, brain trauma, or permanent disability.

These accidents are rarely simple. California and federal laws tightly regulate trucking operations, limiting driver hours, requiring vehicle inspections, and enforcing cargo rules. When companies or drivers break these rules, the risk of a crash rises sharply. Identifying these violations is key to proving fault.

Truck accidents often involve multiple liable parties, including the driver, the trucking company, maintenance providers, and cargo contractors. That complexity makes fast, focused legal action essential. Evidence such as black box data, inspection logs, and driver records can be easily lost or destroyed if not properly preserved.

An experienced truck accident attorney can push back, preserve key evidence, and calculate the full value of your case. Under California law, you have two years to file a claim, but your case begins the moment the crash happens.
