San Bernardino, CA (August 08, 2025) – A collision involving a white Toyota Prius and a semi-truck occurred on the northbound side of Interstate 215, just south of Orange Show Road, on the morning of Friday, August 8, 2025. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) received the first report of the crash around 7:48 a.m., during a busy traffic period in the San Bernardino area.
According to CHP, the Prius was rear-ended by a big rig while traveling in the fast lane of I-215. After the impact, both vehicles were moved to the right shoulder, where emergency responders, including the Freeway Service Patrol (FSP), managed traffic and coordinated the scene.
A gray Hyundai Genesis was also present on the right shoulder, with at least one occupant requesting additional assistance from the CHP, although it has not been confirmed whether this vehicle was involved in the collision.
Emergency medical personnel were dispatched under CHP’s classification 1141, indicating that injuries requiring ambulance transportation occurred. Tow trucks from multiple companies, including Fontana Tow, were called to clear the damaged vehicles.
