[04-06-2025] - Two Killed in High Speed Crash Into Tree on Eureka Road in Granite Bay

Granite Bay, CA — A suspected DUI crash early Sunday morning claimed the lives of two men after their vehicle veered off the road and slammed into a redwood tree in Granite Bay, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The collision occurred at approximately 3:15 AM on westbound Eureka Road, just east of Bridle Path Lane. Officers say the driver of a 2022 BMW M3 was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle. The car left the roadway and struck the tree with devastating force.

Both the driver and passenger — identified as adult males, possibly from Roseville and Granite Bay — were pronounced dead at the scene by fire personnel. Their identities have not been officially released pending next of kin notification.

Emergency personnel closed Eureka Road for about four hours while conducting a full investigation into the crash and clearing the wreckage. All lanes were reopened later in the morning.

The CHP has not confirmed whether alcohol or drugs were involved but noted that the investigation remains active. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact local authorities.

Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of both victims during this tragic time.
