Chula Vista, CA (August 11, 2025) – Two people died Monday night in a car crash in Chula Vista. The collision occurred just before 8 p.m. near the intersection of Apache Drive and Telegraph Canyon Road, according to Chula Vista police.
A Subaru was traveling east on Telegraph Canyon Road and was making a left turn onto Apache Drive when it was struck on the side by a westbound Ford Mustang. Emergency crews had to use the Jaws of Life to free four people trapped inside the Subaru.
Police say a man believed to be the driver and one of his passengers died at the scene. Two other passengers were taken to the hospital. Their conditions have not been disclosed.
Authorities have not yet provided information on whether speed or other factors contributed to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing as police work to determine the cause.
