Whitmore, CA – One Dead, One Seriously Injured in Motorcycle Crash on Whitmore Rd

Whitmore, CA (May 5, 2025) – A fatal two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a sedan occurred Monday afternoon on Whitmore Road near Cow Creek Ranch Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred at approximately 2:35 p.m. when a westbound 2004 black Honda Civic, driven by 50-year-old Pamela Sutton of Whitmore, drifted across the center line into the eastbound lane. The vehicle collided with a 1999 black Harley Davidson motorcycle carrying a 45-year-old male rider from Anderson and a 41-year-old female passenger from Palo Cedro.

The impact ejected both motorcycle occupants. The male rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The female passenger sustained major injuries and was airlifted to Mercy Medical Center in Redding for emergency treatment.

Sutton was evaluated at the scene, and authorities stated that drugs, alcohol, or cellphone use do not appear to be contributing factors. The crash remains under investigation by the Redding CHP office.
