Yolo County, CA (May 27, 2025) – One person was seriously injured after being struck by a suspected DUI driver on Interstate 80 in West Sacramento early Tuesday afternoon, May 27, 2025. According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m., just past the Reed Avenue exit.
Authorities indicated that the suspect was driving recklessly before colliding with another vehicle on the freeway. Reports suggest that the suspect tried to flee the scene but was apprehended shortly thereafter and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The individual who was hit sustained significant injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Fortunately, their injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to the CHP. The name of the DUI suspect has not yet been made public. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
