San Jose, CA (August 03, 2025) – A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle in San Jose on Sunday night. The fatal incident occurred just before 11:00 p.m. near the intersection of Payne Avenue and Winchester Boulevard and is currently under investigation by the San Jose Police Department.
Authorities determined that a black 2018 Chevy truck, occupied by two adult males, was traveling westbound on Payne Avenue when it struck an adult male pedestrian who was crossing the street. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The driver and passenger remained at the scene and cooperated with the police. Officials noted that the pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the crash. The identity of the victim has not been released.
