Fairfield, CA (August 6, 2026) – A bicyclist was killed Thursday after being struck by a pickup truck on the eastbound Interstate 80 off-ramp to Air Base Parkway, the California Highway Patrol confirmed.
According to CHP, a Dodge Ram pickup truck was exiting the freeway when it struck a bicyclist who was riding near traffic on the off-ramp. The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. CHP’s preliminary investigation found that the pickup driver saw the bicyclist and applied the brakes but was unable to avoid the collision. Investigators do not suspect drugs or alcohol were factors for the driver.
The bicyclist’s identity has not been released. The Solano-area CHP office is asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has additional information to contact them directly.
