Deadly DUI Accidents in California
Intoxicated driving is a contributing factor in far too many deaths in the US. In reality, at least thirty individuals lose their lives in these collisions every day, adding up to almost 11,000 preventable deaths each year from drunk driving-related incidents. When someone operates a motor vehicle while drunk or has slowed reaction times, everyone around is placed in danger.
Criminal charges are often brought against drunk drivers who are caught and arrested. Criminal procedures are set up as a deterrence to punish drunk drivers for their careless behavior and protect the public from further harm. Even if a drunk driver doesn’t result in an accident or injury, they may still face criminal charges for DUI.
Nevertheless, despite these deterrents, victims and their families experience these tragedies far too often. People who have been in drunk driving accidents are well aware of the havoc that can happen in these situations. Even worse, these occurrences often result in deaths and severe injuries. After an intoxicated driver causes an accident, you need the support of an experienced lawyer.
