Fatal Car Accidents in California

On the roads of the Golden State, catastrophic and life-altering vehicle collisions occur all too frequently. Drivers occasionally fail to recognize the potential for severe or fatal auto accidents due to the everyday nature of vehicle usage, which obscures the inherent dangers of car accidents. Consequently, individuals behind the wheel may engage in activities such as speeding, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving while distracted, or otherwise exhibiting negligent and irresponsible behavior.

On American highways, millions of people are injured annually in automobile collisions. Tens of thousands of motorists and occupants are killed in collisions. According to the US Department of Transportation’s Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS), 33,654 fatal car collisions occurred in the most recent year, resulting in 36,560 fatalities.
