Bakersfield, CA – Car Crosses I-5 Median, Collides with Semi-Truck

Bakersfield, CA (May 3, 2025) – A serious crash occurred Saturday evening on Interstate 5 in Bakersfield after a black 4-door sedan crossed over from the northbound lanes and collided with a semi-truck traveling southbound. The incident was reported around 6:12 p.m. near a ramp off the southbound side of I-5.

The force of the impact left the semi-truck disabled near the right shoulder, while emergency crews rushed to the scene to assess the situation. At least one vehicle required towing due to damage sustained in the crash.

California Highway Patrol officers are investigating the cause of the collision, including the possibility of driver error or mechanical failure. No information about injuries has been released at this time.
