Hemet, CA (October 23, 2025) – A child was injured in a hit-and-run accident on Thursday evening near Hemet High School, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash occurred at around 5:00 p.m. when a vehicle struck a child near 41701 Stetson Avenue. CHP officials reported that the driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the collision, leaving the child with serious injuries. Paramedics transported the child to a nearby hospital for treatment. The child’s father was informed and was later reported as being at the hospital with his child.
The vehicle involved was found abandoned near 41527 Lomas Street, and authorities are continuing to investigate the crash. The suspect vehicle is being examined for evidence as part of the investigation.
