North Highlands, CA – Bicyclist Injured in Collision Involving White Honda SUV on Garfield Avenue

North Highlands, CA - Bicyclist Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Garfield Ave

North Highlands, CA (July 07, 2025) – A bicyclist was injured following a collision involving a white Honda SUV on Garfield Avenue in North Highlands on Monday evening.

At around 5:58 p.m., officers from the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene, where the white Honda SUV was involved in the incident. Initial reports mistakenly categorized the event as a vehicle versus pedestrian collision, but it was later confirmed that the collision involved a bicycle and at least two vehicles. The injured cyclist was transported to Mercy San Juan Medical Center for further treatment. The injuries were classified as minor, and additional assessments were recommended.

Following the collision, there were temporary lane blockages on the northbound side of Garfield Avenue, but the roadway was cleared and reopened shortly after 6:13 p.m.

The California Highway Patrol is continuing the investigation into the cause of the incident, reviewing possible factors such as speed, right-of-way violations, or limited visibility.

We hope for the full recovery of the injured bicyclist.

Bicycle Accidents in California

Bicycle crashes in California are common along urban corridors, such as Sunset Boulevard, Mission Street, and Florin Road, where high vehicle traffic and limited bike lanes increase the risk of collisions. Riders are often struck by drivers turning left, opening car doors, or failing to yield at intersections. These incidents can cause serious injuries, including broken bones, head trauma, and internal damage, especially when riders are thrown from the bike or hit at higher speeds. Many accidents occur near schools, residential areas, or commercial zones, where traffic volumes are unpredictable. Recovery can be long and difficult for cyclists, who often face medical procedures, lost wages, and emotional stress. In California, we serve injury victims in areas such as Sacramento, Folsom, and surrounding communities, so if you’ve been hurt in a bicycle crash, getting legal support from a trusted bicycle accident lawyer in Sacramento can help ensure that important evidence is preserved and rights are protected.
